Who are we?

The Elephant House is a gallery located in Parnell Village, Auckland, New Zealand. We are a co-operative shareholding company managed by 10 craftspeople (the Big Elephants) who own equal shares in the business. Another 200 selected craftspeople (the Little Elephants) from throughout NZ also sell their work through the shop.

The shop is staffed by both big and small elephants, so whenever you visit, you will be served by one of the craftspeople who actually supply the shop.

Parnell Village is a unique part of Auckland's heritage, originally built in the late 1800's, it was restored in the 1970's. it is a wonderful example of the old-style charm of early Auckland. Wander the back streets and brick paved alley-ways and discover it for yourself.

Location

We are in the heart of Auckland's historic Parnell Village, surrounded by wonderful cafes and speciality shops.

Just follow the elephant footprints down the alley right beside the ANZ bank on Parnell Road and you have found us.
